Part Time Book Keeper Role


Distant Lands is a young and evolving drinks wholesaler / importer established Five years ago. We started the business selling some incredible and rare craft beer across the country and have expanded into the world of small batch wine and mead. 


We are looking for a Part Time Bookkeeper to help keep our filing and accounts in check. This will involve work in our Newmarket office fortnightly on a Thursday for 6 hours. The role requires good working knowledge of Excel & Xero plus the flexibility to work with inventory software and systems that are unique to our business. It will also require contact with our customer base when chasing invoice payments. Please note this is not a work from home position.  


  • Must have experience of using XERO  
  • Proficient use of Excel 
  • Well organised and accurate 
  • Need to be able to work independently and be used to working on your own initiative and problem solving 
  • 3 years book-keeping experience ideally within a VAT registered limited company 



  • Liaising with Our Customers and Chasing Payments on Xero 
  • Managing our Accounts Email & Filing Invoices 
  • Bi Weekly bank reconciliations  
  • Invoice / Receipt filing  
  • Generating EOM Stock figures 
  • Liaising with our accountant to make sure EOM is correct and finalised on time 


Working Hours: Part time – 6 hours per week every other Thursday  

Location:  Newmarket, Cambridge 

PAY: £18.00 PER HOUR
