After last weeks dynamic duo drop of TRANSIENT & SPECIATION Ales from Michigan, we have another two outstanding US imports from FOREST & MAIN (Philadelphia) and ST.ERRANT(Chicago). And if that wasn’t enough, going toe to toe with their American counterparts we also have newness and collabs from VAULT CITYPASTORE and BARON. Get in!

If you were lucky enough to catch these US breweries at Beak’s These Hills Fest, then you’ll know what all the fuss is about. Beautifully executed beers made with absolute care and attention and the ratings to prove it.
THIS BEER IS SUPER SPECIAL…. And these are the reasons why…

Speciation Artisan Ales – If you love sour beer – get on this now as we may never be able to get this beer in again. Mixed Culture BA adjunct sours that are complex, fun, and damn right interesting. Speciation have actually downsized since Covid which means this beer hasn’t even hit some of the shelves in the US, making it some of the rarest sour beer we may have ever imported.

Transient Artisan Ales – Chris did us a solid – if you profess to love imperial stouts and rare beer, look no further, then buy one! When we saw the invoice for this stock we knew that Chris had basically given us 2 years worth of festival specials that had been kept aside during COVID. We’re not sure anything like this at this price point exists in the UK currently. Decadent beautifully executed rare BA Imperial Stouts.

St. Errant Brewing – There are 3 cases of this beer for the whole UK…so we split it down into small amounts to share around.

Freshly air shipped a week ago, these IPA’s are amazing. Velvet Morning is the best IPA (Sam) has drunk so far this year he reckons. Wow!

Forest & Main – A brewpub with a difference – Forest & Main are producing some beautifully crafted saisons. Do not over look the humble saison and it’s complexity – these beers are being made by Dan and Gerard who work tirelessly to better their products. Since 2012 they have been making beer in their Brewpub so the quality and depth of their local yeast culture has had time to develop and create a lovely profile. For the true Saison lovers these refreshing beers are the one for you.

So if you want to get your hands on some of the worlds rarest beers, and lets face it, tastiest beers, then you know what to do!

This Weeks Featured Releases at Distant Lands

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ FOREST AND MAIN

Based in Ambler PA, Forest & Main is an unpretentious Brewpub influenced by Belgian and UK styles. Look at their menu and you’re as likely to see an ESB as much as a Saison.

As such we have bought in beer to match their MO. We have kegs and package of the all day drinking ‘Lone Ranger‘ Bitter, alongside the delicate funk of ‘Spring Break‘ Farmhouse Ale.

However if you want to turn up the heat then check in on their open fermented ‘Coolship 2020‘ – tart but balanced, it carries all the white wine barrelled complexities, with lingering spice notes from the aged Herbsbrucker and Saaz hops. A real gem, executed with (natures’s) precision.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ SAINT ERRANT

Welcome to ST. ERRANT, the roaming nano brewery from Chicago. We’re lucky enough to bring in just a couple of skus from the guys – ‘Velvet Morning’ a DDH IPA with a classic hop backline of Citra, Nelson and Simcoe. Smoother than Sade and packed with a tropical notes, we had a peek at Untapped for the general consensus for this beer and came across this perfect review:

Rich, velvety, luscious – majestic and handsome, like a portrait of a bachelor horse holding a rose.‘ We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. ‘Mongrel Mind’ compliments this, another DDH IPA adding Mouteka into the mix for that citrus zing and herbal back note. Again, ltd no’s – see the list for details.

๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ VAULT CITY

Four big new releases from VC on this order inc. two collabs with Northern Monk on the classic ‘Faith‘ that gets remixed as a pineapple sour, ‘P.O.G‘, a take on the classic Hawaiian kids drink (Passion Fruit, Orange, Guava) and our fave, the return of the 9.5% DDH Hard Lemonade – bags of lemon, lime peel, citrus zest, and reminiscent of a Lemonade Sparkle ice lolly – with no trace of the ABV. Be careful!

๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ PASTORE

More sunshine led beers for the season from PASTORE, this time hooking up with NORTH on ‘Uragano del Nord’ for a take on the Hurricane sour – conditioned on passion fruit, orange, lemon & pomegranate to balance the sweet and sour.
The ‘Peach & Apricot Waterbeach Weisse‘, a Pastore ‘go to‘, will sate the Wimbledon drinkers too – at 3.8%, a real juicy session sour!

๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ BARON

Next out the Baron brewhouse is another lower ABV beer. We’re loving Jack’s experimentation with this lower end of the spectrum, where flavour and body are key. ‘Bluff‘ comes up trumps with Talus and Bru-1 adding the weight to this day time drinker. For those who think West is best, then don’t dilly dally on ‘Fun Jumps’ where loads of dank, pine and bitterness rule supreme. Proper West Coast business!
